Empathy

Feeling the death of the day at your back
It doesn’t draw attention to itself like that
And god is that thing you would spit at raw
They’re the golden light at the end of a drop

I loved you more and more with each step
That you’d take, it’s the open ended,
Stumbled mistake,
I say unto you only truths that I feel
I could breathe life into you
But then I myself couldn’t deal

Rub it so raw, so dark and so dirty
Falling apart, hold myself sturdy
It’s the art of an hour left cold on the floor,
This is what I gave myself this life for,
And pray to my strengths
Show me my honors, I’m falling apart
My heart feels so sore,

Give me your hand I will bless it
And love it, only take that,
I can’t give you much more

Those Pretty Fears

Instant wishing and skydiving seagull
All in a moment when you were so startling
In contrast and fair, that light in your hair.
Heart beats and short breaths
Brave in that prey’s nest
Where blooming flowers have no rest
Just hope and hope for the very best

Rain and sunshine that don’t burn right
Against those gnarly ties,
Holding on for all their life
If just to see the other side, but they are black,
So crooked lives that break your neck with terror eyes,
You could tear them with a lingered touch
Knowing it belonged to us, and what would that

Monster do, it’d fade away, contented too

Hardship

Loch ness creature in the crevice of shapes
Looked on by plenty with more than mistakes
One soul so bright, maybe another
Can look at that beauty and try to uncover,
Whistling wisps and curves of light doom
Crowded and melting and growing out soon,
With mind like a lighter and pen with the source
I am the liquid energy removed from that torch

To see that beauty like love in a cave
All encompassed, all shrouded in births and
Accomplished, hard worked pains,
Soul bright, soul bursting, soul reaching and learning
Oh beauty oh beauty, oh love oh love, love, love,
Pray and pray that you’re not too comfortable
To barely miss that fate

Tell Those Truths

Metallics and plastics, breathe out
Living movements studded in concentrated
Grit, for soothe you bring out this clang
Of cherry red guilt and half repressed pain
Building of sunshine, rain and wind, sediment stains,
Withheld and stiff, burning madness, quaking gifts,
This the feeling of unsaid shifts.

Oh for the sake of living at all
And the fine stroke of a hidden fidelity,
Will this delicate feathered fiend belong to me
When I shape the curves that drew my mind
To sudden stings of plump praises,
Eye to eye, these lilting constants of breath
That tell those things left unsaid,
And those organic molecules that you just blessed
Belong to nothing but the everything infinitely.

Divides beginning at blind strikes brought about
By ignorance and hurt, so blurt
Things weighed so hauntingly to your youth,
So bellow that fear out to the grand old fore bearers
Of earth and sky so large, so ripe
It's so sharp and it's so frustratingly vague,
Slight and sneaking, drawn out plagues
Learn to let go and be okay
Take care of self so love may stay
